GeoComply is providing financial support for a two-year research endeavor conducted by the International Center for Responsible Gaming (ICRG) to investigate the long-term efficacy of self-exclusion.

The study will conclude in October 2025 and will concentrate on the most effective methods for self-exclusion, the optimal time for self-exclusion, and the criteria that gambling operators and regulatory bodies should employ to determine if an individual can be permitted to return.

“We require more data to assist the industry in making sound decisions regarding responsible gambling, and I am pleased that we can assist the ICRG’s research in this crucial area,” stated Anna Sainsbury, co-founder and chief executive officer of GeoComply.

“It is essential to understand if strengthening these programs will result in an increase in their utilization and if that is a positive outcome,” remarked Arthur B Paikowsky, chairman of the ICRG.

The project will also examine whether the term “self-exclusion” carries a negative connotation, which could potentially discourage individuals from utilizing it, and the most effective methods for enrollment.
