The Townsville, Queensland, Australia-based Ville Resort & Casino is embroiled in serious accusations of illicit gaming operations. Last week, the Queensland administration levied a substantial $100 million penalty on Star Entertainment Group. This action follows the uncovering of significant oversights in the company’s management of their gaming establishments within the state. It’s important to remember that this sanction precedes any knowledge of the ongoing inquiries into Crown Resorts and their challenges in Victoria. Star has been granted a year to furnish the funds, and although their casino permits were initially slated for a three-month suspension, that reprimand has been deferred to December 1, 2023. These developments impact their gaming venues in both Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
