The executive leadership of Betsson will be changing as Pontus Lindwall departs from his role as Chief Executive Officer. Lindwall has effectively guided the organization through a period of revitalization since 2017, leaving Betsson in a position of strength.

The business achieved unprecedented revenue and earnings in the second quarter of 2021, fueled by the positive outcomes of this endeavor. Nevertheless, the board of directors feels that a shift in leadership is necessary to leverage the dynamic global environment. Betsson Chairman Patrick Svensk commented, “Betsson is more robust than ever…the Board is confident that now is the opportune moment for a new CEO to assume leadership and further propel the growth trajectory.”

This incoming leader will be responsible for harnessing the potential within emerging regulated markets. Lindwall, a seasoned professional with 25 years in the gaming and wagering sector, will maintain his position during the search for his replacement. Svensk acknowledged Lindwall’s contributions, stating, “Pontus has been instrumental in Betsson’s success narrative…[he] was entrusted with streamlining the company’s operations and establishing a stable foundation for sustained expansion. That objective has now been accomplished.”

The company expressed immense appreciation for Pontus Lindwall’s commitment throughout his tenure. His contributions have been essential in positioning the organization for future achievements.

Lindwall will maintain his role as Chief Executive Officer until a replacement is selected. Following his departure, he will receive a compensation package spanning twelve months.
