BetMGM outmaneuvered them by a month, becoming the first to provide mobile sports betting in Puerto Rico. They are capitalizing on their presence at the San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino to establish a strong position in this emerging market.

Currently, to utilize the Caesar’s app, registration must be completed online followed by in-person finalization at the Casino Metro. They have a comprehensive setup there, featuring betting counters and self-service terminals, dubbed the “Casino Metro Caesars Sportsbook”. Eric Hession, the top executive for Caesar’s digital operations, expresses great enthusiasm for this endeavor. He views the app as the ideal complement to their existing physical sportsbook, providing residents of Puerto Rico with the complete Caesar’s experience. He also conveys gratitude to the local gaming commission for facilitating this development.

This is a strategic move by Caesar’s, particularly since sports betting only gained legal status in Puerto Rico in 2022. It’s a new market brimming with potential, and the unfolding competition between Caesar’s and BetMGM will be captivating to observe.
