Allwyn Appoints New Chief Security Officer Ahead of National Lottery Takeover

Allwyn, the organization awarded the UK National Lottery contract, recently named Mark Hughes as their new Chief Security Officer. Hughes, whose tenure officially commences on January 15th, brings extensive expertise to Allwyn. He will play a crucial role within the executive team as they gear up to take over the National Lottery on February 1st. His top priority? Guaranteeing the safety and security of all lottery facets under his purview.

Hughes transitions to Allwyn from Smart DCC, where he served as their leading security specialist, overseeing the protected communications infrastructure supporting the UK’s smart meter deployment. Prior to that, he dedicated 16 years to Vodafone, spearheading their UK corporate security initiatives. During his time at Vodafone, he oversaw security protocols, compliance frameworks, and collaborated closely with the UK government and intelligence services to implement industry best practices.
